The senseless killings are especially soul shattering as the June 2026 loss of 49 at Orlando's Pulse Nightclub is still fresh in Central Florida's memory.
There was no opening act. We laughed, we cried, we gladly sang along to tunes that marked our own journeys through life, even those born long after the Beatles left the world stage. Paul, growing up in the 1960s, was not my favorite Beatle. But his showmanship remains today at age 80, and his songwriting passes the test of time. No pause between songs, except for Sir Paul regaling the crowd with memories of his band mates and all the experiences they shared.
At times, the audience looked like fire flies with their cell phones all aglow, especially during his poignant performance of "Let it Be" toward the end of the night. Weather reports predicted rain and lightning, but it was a perfect night, cool and otherworldly, with billowing clouds floating above the stage.
